Facing death is something we try not to think about, yet we find that sometimes, it is all we think about. Man has a God-given conscience and the ability to analyze and make moral choices. With this comes a yearning to know God or to know if there is a God. The fact that there has never been a society or civilization that has not attempted to develop some kind of sophisitcated religious system speaks to this yearning.
Man was once able to hang out with God. The first man wasn't some amoeba, or ape, but a man named Adam. He was created by God, and placed in the garden of Eden. Adam had the same thing you have, a choice to love and serve God. When Adam's and his wife Eve were tempted by Satan, they sadly entered into sin, and that is when mankind entered into death.
Jesus came to reintroduce us to a personal relationship with God. When Jesus died on the cross, He paid the price for your sins, and prepared a way for you to finally have the question of death settled.
Jesus promised that by trusting in Him, and what He did for you on Calvary's cross instead of trusting in your own goodness, God delights to give you the gift of eternal life.
